Visiting a friend in Singapore allowed us to catch a flight to the land of a thousand temples and a million smiles. Experiencing Bali made us realize that traveling could be so much more than city-tripping. Fresh mango on the beach and starlight dinners! Care to join us?
My friend Katja threw a rockabilly photoshoot to celebrate her 40th birthday. She invited her friends and asked me to come along to take some pictures of my own.
Vintage clothing, a classic car and a unique shooting location! What’s not to like?
Here are my favorite shots!
With one simple idea and some self-printed coupons, I was able to turn a stressful day of scrambling for chocolate and coins into something to actually look forward to: a day of sharing, learning and giving back… true to the spirit of NoMoreMovies… and Oxfam.
In my last post I wrote about the importance of spending quality time with family. Well, one very important person could not make it to pancake day, so I decided to give him his very own blogpost.
I’m talking about Firmin… aka: Philly the Brave.
Although this is a personal piece, there are times when you just want the world to know what a person means to you. You want to acknowledge them, reminisce and be grateful for what they gave you. Should this piece remind you of someone who sacrificed a lot at some point, I can only hope it encourages you to express your gratitude. Make sure you tell him or her that you remember and that it still means something.
Far too often we postpone those things… and far too often we come to regret it.
Who is Philly the Brave and what adventures did we share? Read on…
Holidays equal family! We went for breakfast and pancakes. Then there were adorable New Year’s letters and table-sized animal puzzles…
What about you? Are you able to fit in family-time in a busy schedule? Any family members you would like to spend more time with?
Remember how my last post boasted about posting new material every week?
Well, that didn’t quite happen, did it?
“And from now on, I will write one piece a week…”
That was his last post… 😉
It reminds me of those “famous last words of adventurers”-quotes…
– “Don’t worry, I’ll go first.”
– “I’ll bet my head that cave is empty!”
– “I bet it’s an illusion.”
– “Magic users are WIMPS!”
– “Naw – it’s just sleeping…”
– “Oh, don’t be so paranoid…”
– “But it’s only a LITTLE red dragon.”
Don’t let my lack of posts fool you, though, we’ve been very busy these past few months… all in the spirit of NoMoreMovies!
Here’s what we did…
Once upon a time there was a shy kid with only a handful of good friends. After a particularly tough day at school he slipped the new Hitbox album into his Philips Discman. Listening to music always cheered him up. Sitting somewhere between Def Dames Dope and Laura Pausini was Enigma’s Return to Innocence.
The native chants were intriguing but the lyrics left him speechless…
Some of you may remember Return to Innocence as a forgotten gem of the nineties. Some of you may know Enigma from their early albums. Then again, most of you probably never heard of it… Whatever may be, I invite you to enjoy this unique video, celebrating life itself.
After having taken in some of the beautiful landscapes on the way to Savonlinna, it’s time to start writing again. Here’s a summary of what went down the day of the wedding… A rousing tale of rock churches, party trams, bingo cards, candy bars and speeches on David Hasselhoff.
The Black Eyed Peas just re-recorded their 2003 single “Where is the love”. Not to cash in but because they felt the world needed to hear this song again. I cannot agree more. Here’s why…
